- Dial-up Scripting is installed
- Dial properties are filled out correctly (i.e., it shows the correct
location you are dialing from).
If you can not connect from your hotel room, verify
that you may or may not need to enter a special prefix such as 8 or 9.
iPass often works with many service providers in major business centers in the event one
service provider suffers a temporary outage. If you have already successfully in using the
iPass service and you are having trouble connecting through a particular access point,
check to see if there is an alternative number to use.
Before You Roam
Please find below three points that you should check before you travel.
- Test the Dial Wizard before roaming
Follow the instructions for installing the iPass Dial Wizard and test its operability
before you begin traveling. We also recommended you set up alternative access numbers
before you begin roaming (this is a precautionary measure as some access points can
occasionally be unavailable).
- Different modems functioning worldwide
Many countries have different telecommunications laws and practices. Check with your modem
supplier to ensure your modem will be compatible with the phone systems in the country
where you are traveling. Many of the older modems are not compatible from country to
country. Make sure you have all compatible electrical power adapters needed for the
country where you are roaming. For some comprehensive information about international
phone systems, please see: http://www.teleadapt.com/ .
